Outdoor fashion inspiration.
Jason Chen was the first to use the term "gorpcore," giving it the necessary boost to create its own identity. In May 2017, without necessarily intending to create a new aesthetic, he labeled a style that already existed but that no one knew exactly how to describe with a definitive and comprehensive term.
What is Gorpcore? Gorpcore – ("Good Ol' Raisins and Peanuts") – is a style focused on wearing utilitarian, functional clothing inspired by the outdoors – or Techwear, if you prefer. There are brands more well-known among hikers and campers than among participants in fashion weeks, which still represent the peak of the aesthetic movement. In this case, it's the fashion runway that draws inspiration from the outdoors, and not the other way around.
Workwear clothing and footwear come into play here as technical options, endowed with features capable of providing a safer and more comfortable outdoor experience. What these brands didn't know is that GORPCORE brought with it the ability to rescue products from true professional and workwear brands, combining them with luxury fashion products - thus bringing a blend of aesthetics and authenticity.
No Risk positions itself in this universe where the design of work shoes is not only conceived for professional function but also with a sensitivity to fashion and outdoor life.
